Field Trip to Evans Orchard

These Field Trip letters went home today in purple folders! Click on the letter or permission form to enlarge.

Our Apple Taste Test!

On Monday we read a non-fiction book called Apples for Everyone! Then, we tasted red apples, green apples, and yellow apples. Every student picked their favorite apple and we created a whole-group apple graph! This was a very tasty activity and most students liked the red apples the best. :)

The First Week of our Apple Unit sure was FUN!

Students made these after reading the book "Ten Apples Up on Top" by Dr. Seuss. They practiced ordering numbers by gluing their apples in order from 1 to 10.

Students learned all about the life cycle of an apple tree during our read aloud of The Apple Pie Tree. Then, students showed what they learned by sequencing the life cycle of an apple tree on sentence strips.

At one math workshop, students practiced the concept of More and Less, as well as practicing different ways to make 10 by forming two groups! They had fun gluing the "apple seeds" to the apples.

We learned about Johnny Appleseed during our Read Aloud time and by watching a fun educational video. Students had a blast making their own Johnny Appleseed hats! :)
